Tour de Houston, presented by Apache Corporation, will take place March 19, 2017. Now in its 12th year, this annual bike ride offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with routes winding through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts, and parks while raising funds for the Re-Plant Houston program managed by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department. With three ride distance options, Tour de Houston is the perfect event for cycling enthusiasts of all levels. The Mayor's Office of Special
Events is anticipating 5,000 riders for this year's event.
Every year a new route is featured to meet the Mayor’s objective to showcase different Houston neighborhoods. The 20, 40, and 60-mile rides* are a BP MS 150 approved training ride. Riders will begin and end in Hermann Square at City Hall, located at 901 Bagby. After the ride, cyclists and volunteers are invited to join us at our Post-Ride Party, held in front of City Hall. The Post-Ride Party, sponsored by Michelob Ultra, will include live music, free beverages, and a complimentary lunch for all riders.

October 1st – 11th, 2015 the founder of Footsteps For The Fallen, is running a 420 plus mile, endurance run, to honor all fallen Texas firefighters. It will start at the Beaumont Fire Museum, making its way to Houston Fire Memorial, Cy Fair Fire Memorial, Brayton Fire Field Memorial, West Fire Memorial, Abbott Fire Memorial, West EMS Memorial, Bruceville-Eddy Fire, finishing at the State Firefighter Memorial in Austin. This run has both symbolic and practical significance. Symbolically, this challenging endurance event is to honor all fallen firefighters in Texas that answered the call knowing they could be giving it all, and did. Practically, it provides a way for 30 year firefighter Tony Constanzo, to leverage his passion for endurance running by helping to raise funds to help support Footsteps For The Fallen, scholarship program.
The combination of intense conditions (rain, wind, heat, cold & hills) and 8-10 hours of non-stop running per day requires unsurpassed conditioning, resolute commitment, and unyielding support. Footsteps for the Fallen is truly an elite event, with fewer cumulative participants than the number of people who have landed on the moon. The first eight days will be 40 mile days. Day nine will be 38 miles. Day ten will be 37 miles. The last day will be 31 miles.
We are looking for sponsors/supporters for the 420 mile Honor Run, to help offset the overhead cost so even more money can go to the scholarship program.
